Unhappy

Here's an odd problem. I'm trying to help my mom (via long distance) solve her Visor mystery. The unit is double-beeping every 15 seconds or so for no apparent reason. Her sound preferences have always been turned off and she hasn't set any alarms. I've had her double-check settings and datebook entries, even had her do a soft reset and change batteries, but the problem persists.

Does the Visor have some sort of independent warning system that enables sound settings? If so, what is the Visor trying to tell her?

The beeps started shortly after a successful hot-sync to install a new program (BankBook) which I previously installed on my own Visor with no resulting beeps. And deleting my mom's BankBook program didn't clear her beeps.

Any suggestions?

Assuming that she's got a good back of her data and apps . . . why not perform a hard reset? If that fixes things, then you know that it had to be one of the apps. Yeah. This is a drastic solution, but with the info available that's all I can come up with.

Question

Well, just as mysteriously as it started, my mom has informed me that the beeping has stopped. She was able to reinstall the BankBook program without a return of the beeps.

Thanks for the hard reset suggestion. I had considered that, but wanted to explore other options first. For now, we'll assume it was caused by sun spots and just move on....
