Maximum Memory?

I was looking at amazon's site for addons to my newly purchased Visor Deluxe (it's in the mail being shipping). I saw a blurb that the maximum memory a Deluxe can hold is 16MB with the flash springboard. Is this true? That was the only place I saw this restriction. I cannot buy a 256MB Flash or SmartFlash card to stick in there?

Thanks for your help. Looking forward to using my PDA in all aspects of my life.

The CPU can only support 16MB RAM, but you won't be de-soldering the memory chip soon, I'll bet.

The biggest flash springboards are 16MB, but if you get a MemPlug CF or FlashPlus you can use any Type I CF. I use a 128MB in my MemPlug CF. Bigger CF would work fine.

There are also MemPlug SM, SD, MS if you have any of those formats lying around in your house.

The advantage of the flash springboard is that the OS and CPU think it's RAM. Operations are fast and almost seamless. Using a CF module takes more thinking. See:

Hmm...yea, the Visor can use any Type I CF card, and I've got a 32 MB CF, but I can't seem to fill it up. Haha. I've only used about 5 MB on it! What do you guys put on your CF cards, that fills them up!? I just got games, most all the apps I need/want that arent games are in memory...

I have 32MB of Kinoma movies and 5MB of pictures. Not to mention about 30 games and a bunch of Mapopolis maps.

Haha, well, I got a visor deluxe, so I won't be playing anymore movies or viewing any pictures...so I guess I'll just have to get more games How much memory does your games take up?

Kinoma and gMovie run on a Deluxe. Some movies are hard to see in B/W, that's all.

I have about 5MB of games.
