Why the euphoria over this new Visor? I'm not being sarcastic, I just want to hear from those of you who plan on buying the new "Edge."

Who's being 'euphoric'? Many of the posts on this forum and others have been negative or at least mixed. On the other hand, if you are asking why there is so much excitement over this, I think lots of people are interested in new devices and new form factors, even when the feature set has not changed much (as I think is the case here...although you could argue that the piggy-back module adapter is innovative, I think it's a bit of an eyesore).

Hardly an 'eyesore' if it's in your hand. Hardly a handsore if it's lighter.

I 'use' my Visor for organizing data, getting info from the net, and entertaiment. Not to show it off or stare at it's back I'm not saying it shouldn't look good.

It feels good. This is not the Visor form factor to which we've come accustomed. Naturally you have to get used to it. Some faster than others

I think it's odd to criticize a product untested, but 'our' opinions are just that. Thinmodem eh? heh heh.

Recall

I seem to recall the same negativity and indifference when rumour of the Prism and Platinum was going around. its funny, it seems that everyone has a Platinum and Prism now..even the ones who were criticizing. I predict the Edge will be a success once people get to see it and actually play around with it.

*Might* being the operative word here. None of our hands are alike. Why suggest off the bat that it's uncomfortable unless you've held it?

I don't think such a device is geared towards those who have the large modules, or use them all the time, and we all have our opinions. Since I have massive pythons <flexes> and meat hooks.. I don't complain about the weight and shape of those modules and the Visors objects. <flexes>

Visor Edge + Visor Phone

I no there are mixed opinions about the imminent release of the "Edge", but I have to say that I think it would present a better form factor for folks interested in using it with the Visor Phone. James (or anyone else), what do you think about that?

I think this is one slick looking PDA.

That being said, I don't think that I would buy one. It does not fit with how I use my Visor. I generally keep a module in the slot at all times, and I feel that the springboard sleeve spoils the looks of this sleek little visor since it is added on, rather than integrated in. The fact that the sleeve is a different color and material also doesn't help

I don't think we can really say how it will FEEL until we can go into a store and hold one. On the other hand, try this: 1) borrow a friend's Palm V 2) Buy some double faced tape 3) Tape a smallish wireless phone to the back near the top. Voila! Instant Visor Edge.
