Debugger Serial Line Error

When I attempt to connect to my Visor with the debugger I get the following error repeating over and over -

Serial Line Error

This message repeats until I remove the Visor from the cradle. I have no problems syncing the device but I can't copy my ROM to use in the emulator. Anyone have any ideas?
