Question

I hope someone can help me. Here is my qeustion.
I installed Wordsmith and have since decided to wait and removed the trial version from my PDA. Then I removed the desktop conduit. However I still have the Wordsmith module showing up in MSWord. and I get a ERROR: module not found when I go into Palm desktop. I am assuming it is looking for the Wordsmith module because it started appearing right after I removed Wordsmith. Any suggestions?

CLark

Did you use the Add/Remove Programs applet from the Control Panel to remove WordSmith from the desktop? The module not found error is occurring because of a registry entry telling the Palm Desktop to load an app that no longer exists in the specified directory. The WordSmith menu still appearing in Word is because the WS template still resides in the Office Startup folder. Using Add/Remove should have taken care of this for you.

I would re-install the program to re-generate the script and keys etc. The previous uninstaller probably messed them up.

Then use the add/remove programs to uninstall it. DON'T use a 3rd party uninstaller as sometimes those will clean the registry and files of the main application but won't know that the program added information to say Word. So it won't clean that up. It has no way to know what the program did to other programs.

Only the add/remove programs option will clean it as it has a script that knows exactly what was installed and what needs removed.

Let us know
