Exclamation HELP! Connection Problem w/AT&T & Xircom

I just bought the Xircom modem, I'm having problems connecting, I get as far as almost connected then it says authentication error. Anyone know what this means. The LED on the Prism also flashes when I have the module plugged in, anyone know why? Thanks,
DAX
Update:
I got connected, but I still don't know about the light. I do have another problem, the browser that comes with the modem (AvantGo) crashes as soon as I type a URL in, anybody know why or know of a better browser? Thanks,
Sterling
Apparently, according to AT&T, I'm too cheap to have web on my Visor, they say that the i495 plan i'm on places an ad on the screen and won't function properly on the Visor, oh well, time to get a new ISP. Anyone still know about the light? I would hate to damage my Prism, or drain my modem battery charging it! Thanks again,
DAX

From Xircom's support page

"'Fatal Exception' Error Rec'd Using SWD or SM56GA in Visor Prism/Platinum Running Mobile Link

Problem:
When Using Xircom SpringPort modules and the Mobile Link application to access AvantGo browser software, a 'Fatal Exception' error message is received on the Handspring Visor Prism and Platinum models, and the module has to be reset. If the Mobile Link application is run from the Visor itself, the issue is not seen.

Resolution:
1. On the Visor, go to FileMover and click Module.

2. Check Mobilelink and click Copy. This will copy Mobilelink to the Visor. Do not select Move."

Please refer to this thread regarding the blinking Prism LED.

Otherwise contacting Xircom's tech support can be done through their online technical support request page.

Here's Xircom product support page for the Springport modem.

Hi. Today I finally got my Wircom Modem to work. After a whole month of trying and changing to three different providers, after Xircom told me that the modem does not work with every provider.

My configuration:

Visor deluxe, Xircom GlobalAccess and ATT Worldnet Account

In the network properties i choosed WINDOWS RAS as service (I"m not sure about my translations, because I"m german and so my Visor is too)

As User [email protected]
Password: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

In the details:

Tyoe of connection is SLIP
No time stuff
No query DNS, but

prim. DNS 204.127.129.1
sec. DNS 12.102.244.1

auto. IP activated

MODEM:

Standard, 57.600 bps, calm, auto, country is other and the last stuff is AT&FX4

Thats it, but now the only thing that works is the connection, because I don"t have a PC here to configure the AvantGO.

hope I could help you
