Sharp Linux/Java PDA
By: Travis @ 07:22 PM

Just curious. I'm wondering if anyone has looked at the new Sharp Linux/Java PDA and if you're considering purchasing one.

It looks really neat to me, but it ain't (sorry Yorick) cheap!

What does the group think about a Linux/Java OS on a PDA device?

I like the keyboard, but the machine seems a bit big...

Prism:
4.8" x 3.0" x 0.8"
sharp:
5.4" x 2.9" x 0.7"

That means it is slightly thinner and less wide but a lot longer...
quite bit compared to the latests Palms and Clies...

Also I'm worried about the OS...

But it look very interesting...
Do you know (roughly) how much it wil cost?

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

I'm not sure what the street cost will be. Developers can get one right now for about $400. Not cheap but neither was the Prism when it came out.

The OS is what I find interesting. I'm not sure if it will ever be the common persons PDA, but it might be a fun thing to us.
