Question

Has anyone seen one of these things? The InnoPak 2/V didn't seem to be a huge hit, so I was waiting for this one.

I'm still not sure if both alarms work at once. The company said no but a review said yes. Heck, I'm not even sure if it's shipping.

Dan

I hoped to have a review of the MemoryAccess written by now, but I've other articles have taken precedence. I should have posted on my site (tech.thirsty.com) in the next couple of days.

But to answer your question: yes, you have the option of using both alarms (LED and vibrating) at once. You have the option of setting one, the other, both, or just the sound alarm. I got a review unit, so I don't know if it's shipping to consumers.

DanJ-

Here is the site for the Infomitt Access Memory. Can't guarantee that it is shipping, but they are taking orders.

If you remove then re-insert the module, do you have to switch to vibrate mode again, or does it remember the previous setting?

Gameboy, what version are you reviewing? I had one pre-release unit that was great but the second "shipping" unit has some pretty big changes. What is the app called on yours and how many checkboxes do you have on the configuration screen.

I don't see any version number what I select the "About..." menu option. There are six checkboxes to enable/disable the cards LED/vibrating alarm replacements for the default sound alerts: Click, Info, Error, Startup, Warn/Conf., and Alarm. There are three strength levels for the vibrating alarm: light, normal and heavy. What changes will there be?

Question MemoryAccess on Prism?

Anyone tried the MemoryAccess board on the Prism? Mine works fine for storage and vibe/LED, but if I have the card in during a HotSync I get a Fatal Exception error at the end of the sync.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience on the Prism or Platinum.

I think you are talking to a small audience. I don't think any 'regular' users have these modules. I've not heard from anyone who has one that isn't somehow media related. The official 'shipping status' still says Taking Orders, but the product is in beta, not shipping.

I really wanted one of these modules, but trying to get straight answers from the company has been such an ordeal I'm afraid to trust them with my credit card number.

Interesting, Dan. The box I got was shrink-wrapped and looked ready for retail. It's actually a fine product (other than that crash problem), so it'd be nice to see it reach the market.

Exclamation

I ordered this module (momory access, infomitt is a pager module)about a month ago. When I sent an inquiry about the shipping status, this is the reply I got:

Hello again,
I must admit, as hard as it is, that I have made a mistake. I sent you
the email regarding the InfoMitt pagercard instead of the Memory Access
modules. Now lets talk about the Memory cards. We have them in our office.
They are packaged and ready to be sent out as soon as we get a release from
Handspring. They have not been found to conflict with the new versions of
the Visor so they are fine.
I apologize for the confusion.
Have a good day,
Vanessa

just in case you were interested, the same rep mistakenly sent this message about the infomitt right before the mem access message:

Hello,
Thank you again for your order and for your patience. I know that you
have been waiting quite a while. We have completed the beta test and
everything appears to be fine. We have discovered that there were some
conflicts with the new Prism and Platinum Visors so they are making those
corrections now. All that we are waiting on is the ok to release the updated
version of the InfoMitt to the public.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Again I
apologize for all of the delays, I know that this thing has been along time
comin. I am positive that once you receive your InfoMitt you will be
satisfied.
Thank you again,
