Which Visor should I buy?

I am on the verge of taking the plunge and buying my first pda but don't know which one I really need. I was all set to get a refurbished Visor Deluxe to try the whole pda thing out. I'm really looking for an organizer and a way to download news, movie listings etc. However, Handspring is now offering a free Visorphone with purchase and since my husband and I having been toying with the idea of each having our own cellphone instead of sharing, the Visorphone looks like a good move.

So,is the Visor Deluxe equipped to handle Visorphone or will a faster Visor like the Platinum?

The VDX is fine for VisorPhone. I use it.

The Platinum may have better performance with the VisorPhone in Europe, but there is some anecdotal evidence that VDX works there too.

I say get the new 16mb visor pro. if your going to get the visorphone. i have the visor edge and i love it but when i was going to get the visorphone i realized that i only had 943k left of memory and i know the blazer software and the phones software will exceed the limit.
the VDX is usable with visor phone but go with the visor pro or visor platinum

Well, with the Prism now going for $299, I'd say get one of those.

Dang, that's the same price I bought my my Platinum for back in Dec. Rats, I should have waited longer...

I know you're joking.
I recently bought a Prism (used) and I love it. But I've given up trying to beat the price point. If you like the technology or the aesthetics or whatever get it when it reaches a price you can comfortably afford. The day your return privileges expire the company will release a better, faster, cheaper model.

I agree. I bought my Platinum for $234 on Amazon in early August. sure, I do wish I had waited two weeks and got the VPL at $199, or a month and a half to get a Visor Pro or even two months and got a Visor Prism, but I am happy with my Platinum. PiDirect works on VPL, it faster, and has better graphics compared to my old VDX.

Hopefully Handspring will still be selling the Prism next summer so I can get it at $249 or something, though $299 would be fine.
