Question

Does the design of the springboard port support the concept of a "passthough" module? For example... a time could come in the future when an OS upgrade may be necessary for whatever reason... could a passthrough OS upgrade module be designed such that it could replace the OS on the Visor and still accomodate another springboard module?

Any ideas from those in the know?

I recall reading a Jeff Hawkins interview where he was asked if a module could be designed that could accomodate another module. He gave a detailed answer explaining why it wasn't technically possible (I can't remember the explanation), but basically his answer was "no."

I believe that B&W Palm OS products are nearing the end of the line, and that any further substantial OS upgrades will be for color, which the Visor's hardware can't support anyway. This issue has been discussed to death, but it's hard for me to imagine an OS upgrade that's "necessary."
