Don't know whats happening.... I was able to hotsync but when I tried it monday, it would not hotsync.

Not only that, it froze up in the cradle. Had to release a battery to get it to shut off.

Now I can't even do a soft reset which really disturbs me due to the enormous amout of data I added..... since if I hard reset I lose it.

Please help!!!!!!

There is a third option. While performing the soft reset hold the "UP" scroll button. This will give you the same effect as starting a Windows client and holding the "Shift" key as it starts up. It prevents other apps from starting up right away which may be what your problem is. Good luck!

A caution, speaking from experience: If the warm reset as described above works, you're not completely out of the woods yet because whatever caused the original problem has only been bypassed, not resolved.

You should first completely backup your Visor (with BackupBuddy) to the computer, then do a soft reset (with a paper-clip only) and see what happens. If the Visor resets properly, then you're safe and can breathe a big sigh of relief. If the only way you can get your Visor to boot up again is to redo another warm reset (paperclip and the up button), then you'll have to do a *complete* hard reset. And by this, I mean removing the batteries out of the Visor for at least 20 minutes before reinstalling your data and apps. Yes, you read that right, it takes around 20 minutes to completely discharge the capacitor that holds the ram alive.

But i've once do the warm reset and there's a black spot flashing at the upper left conner of the screen. I could no long reset it and I have to do a hard reset. What is the case ?

blinking dot in top left corner after reset

Hi, has anyone else experienced this? does anyone know what
causes it, and/or how to get around it?

I've had it happen a few times, and it has always required
a hard reset to get the unit working properly.

The blinking square means that the Visor is in one of its debug modes. A soft reset should restore it, though I've had occasions where several resets were needed as well as one hard reset.

how to get out of "blinking dot" debug mode...

hi, MarkEagle! thanks for the response!

does you (or anyone else) know of a "surefire" method for getting out of this debug mode? I experienced this most recently
yesterday, and I tried quite a few (10+) soft resets, to no avail. I also tried to do a warm reset (hold "up" button while
poking reset switch) several times, but I don't know if it did anything (the blinking dot was still there).

I did notice that if I held the "down" button while pressing the reset switch, the blinking dot would disappear, but after
waiting about 2 minutes, my VDx still hadn't successfully re-booted. I also noticed that, at one point, I managed to speed
up the blinking dot by pressing various hardware buttons (simultaneously). Unfortunately, I had done this out of frustration
and so did not notice *which* sequence of buttons.
