IR port?

I was wondering what the distance the IR can reach for the Visor Edge. I heard it was about a meter, but I also have heard there are programs to boost this distance. Can anyone tell me what these programs are. Does the OmniRemote program boost this by itself. Thanks .

Software alone cannot boost IR

There is an OmniRemore SB module which will give you better range but I have never heard of software alone doing this. Long range IR requires a lot more power and a different LED array as far as I know.
