Question Restoring from Backup Module

Hi ... I'm a novice user of the Backup module (bought directly from Visor Germany) and was happy to believe that I would be able to do simple, fast restores after a hard reset. Unfortunatley, somehow over the weekend, the batteries worn down and it seemed to reset itself. When I tried the restore on Monday from the module, the program warned me that the backup didn't belong to this handheld. When I said "go ahead," the restore continued, but upon trying to reload the OS, I just got the Palm OS logo blinking and no further. To work around this problem, I had to take the batteries out, hit the reset button, reinstall programs from my laptop and hot sync.

Has this happened to anyone before? Why would it think the backup doesn't belong to my handheld? Seems to defeat the whole purpose of buying the module.

The "backup didn't belong to this handheld" message is normal when trying to restore to a handheld that has been hard reset (or any handheld that it doesn't recognize as the one that was backed up to the module). I guess it's there for us folks with multiple handhelds and modules just to give us a second chance if we stick in the wrong module. That said, the restore should have worked as you did it and I suggest you try some backup/hard reset/restore tests to make sure everything's OK (obviously after backing up everything to your computer via HotSync first).
