Unhappy "no dial tone" message

Set up my new Thinmodem Plus and it works great.......at home.
At the office, I get a "no dial tone" message, although I can hear a dialtone before I disconnect the phone. Does it have to do with multiple lines being on one phone? Is there some way around this? This is where I need my PDA modem to work!

Question Try Dialing 9?

It's very possible that you've considered this, but if you have to dial 9 or some other number to get an outside line, you'll have to check that in the preferences section of the menu with a comma following it. This will give a pause and allow the outside dial tone time to "kick in". It's happened to me a couple of times, and that was the fix. If that isn't it, make sure your line at work isn't digital. If it is, and you keep trying you may fry your modem.
Those are the quick answers I can think of off the top of my head, if these aren't the reasons, I'm sure you'll have an answer soon enough, there's lots of experience with modems floating around on the board! Good luck!
