Covey Designs has a special tool that lets you put your palm pilot into your organizer. Have any of you used this to put your visor into your organizer. Have any of you come up with your own designs or have any sugesstions besides the one listed below.

Allows you to snap your Palm III or PalmPilot organizer into your day planner, where it's accessible. This durable matte-plastic case is custom-made for the Palm III or PalmPilot, and fits Compact, Classic and Monarch binders PLUS most other standard binders too!

Cool

For me the whole idea behind a Visor was to rid myself of a paper planner. Do many of you keep your paper planner in addition to a PDA?

I don't have a planner, but I do, at times, have to carry around a portfolio to carry proposals, brochures, and a spiral bound pad of paper for notes, etc.

I looked and looked until I found one that has a pocket that just so happens to fit the Visor (and, before, my Palm 1000). The pocket is really for diskettes, and has a flap that would close over the disks. I leave it open when I have the Visor in it. The whole portfolio zips shut so I don't have to worry about it.

It's really just for storage, you can't actually use the visor in the portfolio...

I went for a couple of years carrying a portfolio and the Palm seperately, and then I needed a new one and looked for a good fit.

Thumbs up

I'm with you Plenow
I bought my first PDA, a Sharp Mobilon, because I was tired of lugging a planner and having to enter everything twice, once in the Planer and once in Outlook

I bought the Visor becuase the Sharp is big and clunky and eats batteries like crazy.

I like the Visor because I can slip it in my front pants pocket or my shirt pocket and go on my way.

Hey jaymaudib,
I did go to a Franklin/Covey store to try one out (I sometimes need to have sketch paper w/ me) and found that the insert you are asking about won't work at all with the Visor. The Store manager said he thought that they might come out with a Visor specific one, but couldn't be definate. I found that if I have to I can shove my Visor into the back pocket of my compact planner. If you wanted something more secure I guess you could sew elastic ribbon onto the inside of the front or back cover of your planner, or use a velcro pad on the back of your Visor(which seems to be a less then ideal solution). Keep us informed of your final solution.

I just bought the sport binder for Palm III from Franklin Covey in a pocket size. It has an area on the left where my visor fits well. On the right is a binder that I keep blank paper. I do not use the binder part as a planner, but sometimes I found that I needed to be able to jot down information to give someone, or had to write down information very quickly (such as over the phone). This has been perfect for me and it fits easily into the side of my purse. It is thicker though, so if you need to slip it in a shirt pocket or something, you might want to try it first.
Hope this helps.
