Question

Innogear originally said they would be shipping mid August. Well, here we are three days before the end of the month and still no product. Do you think they will ship by the 31st? I hope they do, but I don't think so. I will be thoroughly surprised if they can get it out.

NO. That's my answer. Innogear should change their name to Vaporgear, that would be a name more intouch with their business habits.

Unhappy Whenever...

I'm pretty much in a "wait and see" mode. I'm not even looking for it anymore. If it ships this week, great. If it doesn't...whatever. There is nothing else out there (for now) that matches the memory of the MiniJam. If there was, I would have ordered it instead. Sure, there is part of me that would love to get my hands on this module before this week is up, and is hoping, but I'm not holding my breath...

(BTW, when the pre-order was first announced, it was to ship in the first week August, not mid - they pushed it back to mid-August, then late-August.)

Unhappy

I agree with BEN. I don't think they'll ship it in next three days, either. One of the reason that I jumped on pre-order was to take it to my next vacation in mid-September. But I have a feeling that I'm going on vacation without it

August 31st????????

I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever ship.
I can understand component shortages but please...PLEASE...stop issuing and changing release dates.

Enough with the foreplay already!

Geez, I just saw something that said "end of the year."

http://www.zdnet.com/products/stori...33117%2C00.html

Oh, wait, my bad, that was end of 99! I'd call it an even money bet on end of september. September 2001 that is. If they were really about to ship, you figure they would have a spec sheet up. That is perhaps the scariest thing missing from the web site (besides touch with reality of course).

Is it just me, or is there absoultly no information posted at all on the MiniJam site. All I can find is a small promo, and a button to pre-order. Now, I would never pre-order a product that dpesn't come with any sort of spec sheet.

If they were anywhere near ready to ship, wouldn't they have beta units in the hands of reviewers by now? Granted there's not a lot of competition for the MiniJam (unless you consider standalone MP3 players), but I still think they could really benefit from some glowing reviews in light of all the delays.

Even with component shortages, they should still be able to scrounge enough engineering samples to build some review units. Since that hasn't happened (or they have the worlds most restrictive NDA), I have to believe that there are technical problems beyond the supplier issues plaguing the industry. For the sake of those eagerly awaiting the MiniJam or the sixPack (I for one have given up on both) I hope someone at Innogear has really deep pockets. I think there's a very real chance we could see Innogear become vulture bait before either product ever ships. Just my $0.02.

Wink minijam

I received this email from Innogear 8/28:

"We will ship some quantity this week, some more next week.
Our production is trickling in!
Sorry for the delay, but production is obviously not up to speed.
Can you hold on?"

My question is how much is " some quantity"

Red face

Well, I guess I will have to eat my words. Probably.

If someone does get one, can they post a list of
specs?

Well, they have about 40 minutes to come through. OKay, I know their not going to send them out at the stroke of Midnight, but we can always be optmistic.

And I though they were not going to come through. Sometimes I hope I'm wrong.

I hope I wrong as well. I would really hate to cancel my order because I am really looking forward to it. But like I said before one can only be strung along for so long. My order number is 1700 something. I hope they will ship about 5000 initially, if that is a small amount. Good luck to all those who pre-ordered!

I also received an email from them saying that the MiniJam would start to ship today (Aug 30th). They said:

We expect to start shipping Wednesday of this coming week. We will fill all orders in a matter of a few days. Thanks for your patience.

I have had my doubts in the past about their shipping dates, but they probably wouldn't say that they're going to ship in a couple of days and then not do it, that's just not good business. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed!

Thank you for your recent contact.

I understand that you would like your MP3 MiniJam
player as soon as possible. It is out job to make
you happy! Im sorry about any confusion you might
have had with the shipment date of the MP3 MiniJam
player. Our sources say August, and usually that means at the

dead end of August, going into September. We do not

have an exact shipping date yet, so hold on!

----------------------------------------------
just my additional 2 cents..

p.s. I think my order number is in the 300's

I guess one possible way to see if your order has shipped is to check if your credit card has been charged. They're not supposed to charge it until the order has been shipped or finalized or something like that.

Post Was told that about 200 shipped

Talked with someone at the 1-877 number. He told me that a small amount (about 200, but he wasn't sure) shipped for the August 31st deadline.

He said they will be getting another shipment of minijams on Tuesday (9-5-00).

He also mentioned that Order Number 1050 is the next in line for receiving a minijam--to ship on Tuesday.

Arrow Yes they're shipping

Yes, InnoGear did meet the deadline. Units were coming off the production line yesterday and today and shipments began yesterday.

A larger shipment is going out next week, but probably won't begin until Wednesday because of the Labor Day holiday.

I will be getting a review unit today, and will have a review of the module done next week.

Post Order Number

Innogear sent out a letter around the beginning of August. (mine was dated 8-7) My order number was listed in that letter.

OR you can call 1-877-711-6778 and they should be able to look in their system and tell you your order number.
