Check out www.handera.com
They have revealed a little bit more and it is monochrome.
But if you take a look at the picture it says "Voice |"
I am assuming that is the start of an R but who knows? Maybe they have included a Voice Recorder and a REAL speaker...
Also notice in the grafitti area there is a half moon maybe for the contrast. Also notice in the number section of the grafitti area there is a speaker...probably confirming the voice recorder!!!
Take that Pocket PC!!!
Only time will tell!!!

Looks like the screen might be 160x240, and that the Graffiti area might not be permanent. I also like being able to see my Graffiti strokes!

...which isn't such a bad thing necessarily. It will help keep price down. Plus, if it brings in the CF slot from the TRG Pro, they'll be able to low-ball the m500 on price.
Also, just because all we can see right NOW is a monochrome unit doesn't mean there isn't a color unit positioned in the hidden area...

If you look at the lower right hand corner of the new tear-away, you can see the beginnings of a speaker grille. So you may very well be right. (That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be a good speaker, but it might just be enough for voice recording & playback. The "speaker icon" you mention in the graphiti area is likely the volume control.
The only thing that's really bugging me about what we're seeing is that the visable screen area looked mocked-up. Although if what we're seeing is accurate, we may be looking at the first software graphiti area (look closely at the "silkscreen" icons and the other "standard" items in the graphiti area - they look screen-drawn.)

As much as I would like to say that you are correct...there is not enough room to be another unit next to it...I'm not giving up hope yet!!! So far the Clie looks a little better in terms that it has color and stereo sound for MP3s...
Did you also notice that the picture is named "teaser.gif"
Someone explain that to me!!!

Looks like a soft graffiti area to me. The icons are "pixelated". At least someone is advancing the Palm platform (Sony did a nice job too).

It could be shaping up to be a rather interesting May in the PalmOS world. Considering that my recently replaced Ice VDx case is starting to show a crack by the power button again, I'm almost considering upgrading to something else...

Anyone also notice the blinking green light on teh top of the unit. Maybe that shows that it's going to have a rechargable battery. The blinking light must mean something because they took the time to actually put it in the animated .gif file.

Hats off of Handera, they know exactly how the PDA rumor game works! So far they've managed to keep leaks from happening. Very impressive.

I check the leaks, Handera did not have a good design.
I could not see headphones jack... assuming that there is not MP3?
Though I love SD slot and CF slot. Japanese knows how to make hardware

Actually, I think it is a decent design...ONLY if it didn't have those gigantic fake speaker grills. Plenty of places for grime to get stuck in.
Other than that, though, I think it is great. 240x320 resolution is nice and IT IS ABOUT TIME that they made that grafitti area part of the screen!
Hmm...the clie or the Handera? The choices are getting better!
I just wish they didn't call it the Handera. I suppose it is better that TRG...but not much better.

Wow the resolution of that thing must be something like 320 x 420!

Oops, I didn't bother to read the rest. Apparently it is 320 x 240. But how would that work with current 160 x 160 apps?
The backlight seems to be the good kind from the Palm III days.

Extremely interesting conceptually. When real info is released from the company, it should be moreso. The most intriguing feature, IMO, is the display. 320x240? Should be interesting...

I am really dissappointed.
EACH and every new Palm PDA is lacking something.
m505: Soft Screen and Better Resolution, MP3
Sony Clie: Soft Screen and More Colors (only 256)
Handera: Color!!! Color!!! Did I mention color? MP3
Visor Edge: Color, Soft Screen, and Color!!!
If you combined all 4 is when you would have a KILLER product, it would virtually be a Pocket PC with Palm OS and would be the BEST PDA-->hands down or should i say "Palms down"....[I always wanted to say that.

Either way...nothing is perfect...Right now I think the Visor EDge is a No Go...no color and the Spring Board expansion thing is huge on it.
Handera is a no go...doesn't look sleek like the Palm 505..and NO COLOR!!! COlor would make it sooo much better...please handera...please...and add some mp3 capabilit too!!! You got all the storage in the world!!! Muahahahhaahha.....
The m505 is too basic, besides the color its nothing...it has no peripherals yet...
THe Sony Clie!!! Where is it!!! I think I'm going ot go with this one...it has a 320*320 resolution...
THe only thing that could boost the Handera is if they gave it more memory then 8mb and it came with an overclocked processor :-)

PalmStation has a picture of prototype "HandEra 330" .
I hope handspring can make a Visor with soft graffiti area too!
