I thought all Handspring modules would come with their own memory. I believe the new digital camera will eat into the Visor's memory.

What a great idea. Certainly the picture quality will not be the equal of the digital cameras on the market but at $149.00 it will make a great snap shot camera.
What a great toy this is going to be.
I can't wait for it to be released!

Hmmm... With 640x480 pixel standalone digital cameras (with serial ports) out there for 100 US bux, there's gonna be a lot of competition in that market.
For my own purposes, I think I'll stick with film and scanners until 2 Megapixel cameras hit the $250 mark.
I agree with Eug on this one. At that price point, I'd seriously have to think about it. Here's what other analysts had to say about the Palm camera...
"I just don't know how important it will be," says Jack Gold, senior program director for the Meta Group. "Sharp had a camera that went inside the Mobilion and it didn't do well."
Quality is an issue for the camera. PalmPix pictures are low-resolution images when compared to what many midrange megapixel digital cameras offer.
"If I can buy a nice digital camera for $300 or $400, why would I pay $149 for a substandard add-on?" Gold asks. "What's the functionality I'll get?"

In response to Neuritis -- I agree. Actually, a lot of the springboard ideas are good on the surface, until you realize that for a few more dollars you could have a nicer GPS or a very nice MP3 with a lot more funtions. I've been waiting for the GPS springboard, but the more I read about seperate units compared to what I will get with the GPS springboard, the more tempted I am to just go for a seperate unit.

Just a few comments about comparing the camera for the Visor to the camera for the Sharp Mobilon:
the Eyemodule will sell for $149.00
the camera for the Sharp Mobilon is listed at $399.00
This is more than I paid for my Mobilon to begin with.
The Eyemodule is small and compact and combined with the Visor will be easy to handle and carry.
The Sharp Mobilon is about 5 times the size and weight of the Visor and with the camera is nearly impossible to handle much less carry around.
I have a Sharp Mobilon, I retired it in favor of the Visor because the Visor is easier to deal with.
I have not seen a digital camera for less than $250.00. I don't say they don't exist, i just have not seen them.
They tend to have room on their flash card for about 10 pictures. The Visor in color will have room for about 25 pictures.
If I get a seperate camera, I have to carry my Visor and a bulky camera around. If I get an Eyemodule, I only carry my Visor and a faily small springboard around.
This is not to say the Eyemodule will be a great camera. It will be a useful tool and a fun toy. And folks, that is what this is all about
