Here's the deal with the Survival Kit.
Brain Wash packets are basically kits to clean your screen. A kit comes with one moist towellete to clean it and one to dry it. They are sealed so I don't believe they will go bad. You're supposed to clean your screen with this before putting on a WriteRight, although you can obviously clean your screen with this anytime.
The Karma Cloth are soft chamois (2) that are used to wipe down your screen whenever it needs it. At first, I thought that you would only need them if you did not use a WriteRight (they do a great job of removing dust, grime, etc.), but then I tried wiping down my WriteRight with the Karma Cloth and it did a great job.
I'm not sure about the pencap stylus because my Survival Kit came with the Fingertip Stylus which I immediately tossed because it is useless; I couldn't write to save my life with that thing. Not that I would be caught dead with that thing on my finger. Believe it or not, Concept Kitchen actually believes people would wear these things as rings when they weren't writing with it. Anyway, that's probably why they switched to the pencap stylus. I'm sure the pencap stylus is basically the same premise-an emergency stylus for when you lose your primary one.
The Survival Kit comes with 4 WriteRights of 3 different sizes. One size is for full size WinCE devices, the other is for Psion (I think), and the last size is Palm III/WinCE devices(palm-sized). What they ask you to do is return the WriteRights that are not for your application and they will mail you an additional 12 of the ones that you kept. I was a little leary at first, but I tried it and after about 6 weeks, my 12 WriteRights arrived at my door.
I hope this helps your decision.
