You don't have to worry about which code to use for International, Long distance or Local calls, when calling on GSM networks.
Enter + <country code> <area code> <phone> in your phone book.
The GSM network will detect if this is local, long distance or international, and place the proper call.
Example, enter your phonebook phone numbers as +1 215 555 1234 (US), +64 21 555 1234 (NZ), +44 709 555 1234 (UK).
Regardless of where (city or country) you are, the call wil go thru, with the proper code for international calls (011 or 001 or whatever) put in place by the network.
