I got up this morning and discovered that my BVD had apparently done a hard reset, because when I turned it on, it came up with the startup app, and all my stuff was gone. Now I wish I had done that hotsync last night before going to bed (because now I have to go into work). The battery level is over 50%, so I'm wondering if the batteries could have somehow been jostled. Could there be any other explanation for it? I have the 8MB flash springboard. Also, to reload everything, I presume I tell the conduits to load everything from the Palm Desktop, is that correct?

No clue on the reason why, but to restore your last HotSync:

Tell the HotSync manager that "Desktop overwites Handheld" before doing the sync.

This has been happening to others including myself. Has nothing to do with the batteries -- mine were fine as well. In my case though the thing wouldn't even turn on until I did a soft reset, after which everything was erased.

It must be a defect unless people know about the same thing occuring commonly with PalmPilots too.
