Subject: Window 2000 and USB
I have a whole folder full of emails from you guys saying that the USB
drivers for Windows 2000 would be available today, but I can't seem to find
them on your website. Please tell me where I can download these drivers.
Thanks,
Rick Dickens

I can only assume you've all seen this:
Windows 2000 Compatibility
On February 17, 2000, Microsoft released a new operating system called Windows 2000. The support for USB in Windows 2000 is based on a new USB architecture. Given this, the drivers that are included with the current version of the Palm Desktop that is included with the Visor handheld, are not compatible with Windows 2000. The new USB drivers to support synchronizing the Visor with Windows 2000 are currently under development. Handspring will post an updated version of the Palm Desktop that includes Windows 2000 support in March 2000.

I kinda think the drivers should have been posted out a while ago, or at least they could post the beta drivers for us to use or something. I love my Visor but I just wish Handspring would do more to support it both with regard to the drivers and their customers. Maybe they will get better.

Give HS a break, they are not the only people lacking support for Win2K. Off the top of my head, Adaptec's CDR software does not work properly in 2000 (scheduled release for patch, March), Diamond's RIO software does not work in 2000, Kodak's USB digital cameras do not work.
It is frustrating, but given the number of older, established companies that are not able to support 2000 on it's release date...

Yeah, point taken.......But
HS have been saying that they would give access to the beta drivers to customers since at least December.
I had an email from 'Richard' at HS saying that betas would be out on January.
It's looking like the familiar 'make it up as we go along' customer support again.

I have to beg to differ, Adaptec has the patches available for Easy CD Creator, just not the other cd software (lets you write to the disc in realtime, I forget what it is called, as I never use it).
HS deserves what they get when they fail to deliver as promised, just as Microsoft does.
