ok, before i begin, i am not a grammar police nor do i play one on TV, but i do have a small grammatical pet peeve.

it is one that i see A LOT here on visorcentral -- the spelling of the word "definitely" as "definately".

i know this is being anal but i've seen it too many times to ignore it. i've actually seen it spelled incorrectly more times than correctly.

thanks for listening to me moan and groan -- it's been a slow wednesday.

ps - and before you rant on about people who use nothing but lower cases, i'm too lazy to press down that extra key, so bug off.

Then there's that name, Hromadka...

The folks at Ellis Island would correct the spelling if you came through.

That's an easy one...."pronounced rum-odd-kuh, or Rum+Vodka-V" see http://www.hromadka.com/Writings/Bio.htm

Now, how do you pronounce 'Frans Wilbrink'?

Yikes, James! You're a lot younger than I thought. I pegged you as being 40-something. After all, you're a senior editor.

I think a spell check would be nice. If I could only use words that I was certain I was spelling right, I would be limited to a two sylabul..syllabul..syllable(?) vocabulary.

my rant wasn't really a response to your misspelling -- your news item was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back.

i was going to email you, but i thought i'd have more fun this way (wasn't i right?). besides, it was a slooow wednesday.

and markeagle, how nice of you to check up on the how many times that word was misspelled -- guess it was a slow wednesday for you too.

ps - now for a little more fun on thursday, let's talk about screen protector patents....

Yeah, every once in a while I make a typo in news items because I'm in a hurry.
