Question

I have a ThinModem installed in my VDx, which I use when a landline is available, but I also use a mobile phone, with built in HSCSD modem, at other times.

The mobile phone requires some AT commands to be sent in order for it to operate at maximum speed (28.8kbs).

How can I set up multiple modem profiles?

The Modem option in Preferences offers a drop down list, but I cannot see any way to add another modem to this list.

Help please, I would rather not have to manually change the setting when I start using the other modem.

I'm having similar troubles trying to use my StarTAC phone as a wireless modem. The way I understand it is that Standard is the default setting out of the box and Custom is created whenever you modify the modem command string. As far as I've seen, you cannot setup multiple modem profiles beyond those two.

Mark:

I've got a StarTac too, but haven't tried using it yet as a wireless modem (I use a Springport when I need a wireline). Which model do you have?

I've got the ST7867W with SprintPCS (including wireless web). Check out my other posts about how it works
