I forget his name, but that one guy who I almost always get on the phone... Eric I think it was.
Did he bring the "billing computer" home so he check his email now from home?
Personally, I talked to a lot of reps today. They all say it takes 2 - 5 days to disconnect all accounts. So we were given a total of 2 days and *poof* no service. Don't you think any company who had a splitting hair of respect for their paying customers would have given a week or two weeks notice. Hell, I at least had 1 week before Northpoint shut me off.
I also think this company and all these other resellers are either making it or severly breaking it. YY gave out free modems. And they got hammered. This one idiot who worked there at one time tried convincing me that they had 3 million orders. I laughed so hard. 3 million orders, and look at the level of business they are doing now. Well, that's like the Enron of resellers. So, this YY gave out free modems only to have their small profits strung out over 1 year. They charged $39.00 and Verizon was probably charging them close to $20 or so an account. But then they needed to have AT&T accounts to cover their asses in roaming fees. So let's just say their cost out of pocket was somewhere in the mid twenties. (Tonight I was told by a rep that Verizon doesn't even give discounts to employees for CDPD) So 12 months times $15 (max estimate) a month times 3 million subscribers = $540,000,000.
Oh so now it makes sense... YY quit so they can do their own proprietary version of Ricochet. Hmm, maybe I shouldn't sign up so quick with someone else...
