Im curious as to what everyone is using to clean their Visor screen in between WriteRights? What works and what doesnt? Any everyday household products that can be used? appreciate any help. thanks

I'm just using the "BrainWash" package that came w/ my PDASurvival kit (had the wright rights). Though the brainwash seems to really just be a "wetnap" that you can pick up from any BBQ place. I'm sure you could even just use a bit of roubing alchohol and a lint free cloth.

Take two hard boiled eggs. Mash them up in a bowl and add chopped onion. a few drops of tobasco sauce and some salt 'to taste'.

eat about half the bowl...

breathe on screen, wipe with a clean cloth.

Does the trick everytime!!!

I'm doing the ol' breath on the screen, but then wiping with a chamois cloth. Works very well.

I, also, use the Brain Wash. And since I don't always have the Brain Wash with me I keep a Concept Kitchen Karma Cloth in my RS Shocksuit (which is just a funky shaped/colored chamois cloth...). And as a bonus the Karma Cloth keeps my Visor from moving around in the Shocksuit.

I bought a camera lens cleaning cloth (3M catalog # 9021) for about $2.00 and have settled on using 8 guage clear vinyl bought at JoAnn Fabrics for about $1.00. Made myself a few dozen screen protectors and still have a ton of it left!. Works quite well and has greatly improved my Graffiti...

Oh... the old heavy breathing trick along with the lens cloth does a really nice job... hmmm, who'd have thought that the Visor would cause one to breathe heavy???

I have found that FELLOWS (TM) brand WET/DRY SCREEN CLEANING WIPES work well, they are lint free and anti-static. They run between $5-$6 for a package of 12 (much less expensive than the BrainWash).

I keep a chunk of chamois on my office desk to clean my glasses. They sell special small chamois in the sports shops for just that purpose. But those were too expensive for me. So I bought a larger one from and auto part supply and cut it up. After making a small one for my desk at home and office and a third for my TV chair and an extra one to carry in the truck, I still had enough to cut out a 2 3/8" x 3 1/8" rectangle to carry in my case with the visor, so now my visor has it's very own soft chamois.

I just use my glasses cleaning cloth that came with my glasses. Works really well. Or, since I have a write-right I just use my sleeve.

I thought that BrainWash was expensive for what it does i.e. clean the screen. I do think that it may have helped remove some minor scratches though.

Screen Clean, a product that claims to remove scratches, had no impact on scratches at all though.

I use a solution of half water and half vinegar. I spray that on a paper towel and wipe clean. Works good and doesn't leave streaks.

I Use a product called Dri Wash'n Guard a car wax and then clean the screen with a terry cloth. Added bonus is that the stylus glides better. Works great!

To those of you using tissues or towels to clean your screen:

My optomotrist told me that these are bad choices for cleaning any plastic lens, as they are WOOD-PULP products. I presume that the theory here is that wood is not by nature a soft substance, so the risk of scratches is greater than when using a cotton or synthetic fiber cloth. Since the Visor screen plastic seems even less rigid than my polycarbonate glasses lenses, I'm assuming this is sound screen-cleaning advice as well.

I've been using READ RIGHT's Kleen & Dry, CRT Screen Cleaning Pads. They come double packed witha wet and dry wipe. Works really well. Serves Double duty with my monitor too!
