iPod uses a technology known as IEEE 1394 (AKA iLink or Firewire). USB does have electricity going through it and can power some devices however it would probably be kinda slow charging a Prism or Pro.

firewire

In that case if it's a ieee system (instread of the usb) then can a module be created so that I can recharge my visor instread of plugging it in when I am mobile

In this way I wouldn't mind just recharging one device like my laptop instread of multiple devices

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/I/IEEE.html

IEEE is a term used for the organization that declares the standards for these things. The 1394 is important.

IEEE 802.11b is the same as WiFi
IEEE 1394 is FireWire/iLink

So people won't know what you say if you say IEEE. Just an FYI and now you can say you learned something today .

As far as the the Visor I don't know. I do not think its possible unless you want to go in and do some modding under the hood. But I do not have the expertise in that...other people here would be better suited to help you with that. I think it has been done before.

I wanted to have a device that can charge my cell phone, visor and other devices with out chargeing multiple batteries... this way I can charge ONLY my portable computer then transfer the power to my other devices that would be cool

ok thanks

This is actualyl possible. Check out these USB chargers.

http://www.visorcentral.com/content...eet-331-18-.htm from iBiz

http://www.visorcentral.com/content...eet-314-18-.htm from targus.

The iBiz is $20 cheaper, but it is harder to find. The Targus one is avaible right now from Amazon. [Direct link to product - supports VisorCentral!]
