Question

So far I am very happy with my new Prism. As stated by previous threads many users are having problems with the black clip on case. Unfortunately I don't have a solution. For the 2 weeks I have owned the Prism I have been using my VDx Rhodiana case. It has been a SQUEEZE but still seemed to offer some protection. Ideally I would like a case specifically made of the Prism. I like the protection of the Rhodiana case but it does lack the professional look. I like the E&B style but really hate the plastic overlay over the buttons. Today I called Rhodiana, they said that there is a case for the Prism currently available for the same price as the VDx version. I then proceeded to call E&B, a case i supposed to be ready in 3-4 weeks. I was wondering if any other cases are on the drawing board, what anyone else prefers, and should I buy a Prism Rhodiana case.

thanks

I asked Vaja about their plans for a Prism case. Here is their reply:

We're expecting the unit to begin the development of the case.
We'll keep you posted.
Thanks for your interest in our products.

Take a look at Vaja. I think they put a lot of usability into a very classy case. It does have plastic over the buttons. They are working on one for the prism right now, but I'm not sure when it'll be ready.

Question

Anyone know if Handspring is going to produce the plastic belt clip "holster" for the Prism like they have for other models? I just want to be able to carry the thing on my hip like my pager (which I plan to replace with a Springboard module), then do a "quick draw" when I need to use it. I'm not a big leather case fan, so I don't consider any of E&B's offerings an option. Currently, I'm using the leather sleeve that came with the Prism which I modified by gluing a clip to it. Not exactly pretty, but functional.

Exclamation RhinoSkin

Just to add a couple of other cases I've tried
with my Prism:

I tried the RhinoSkin shocksuit. It was a snug
fit, and the power button was minimally accessible.

I then ordered and tried the Ti Slider. Nope. It
looks like a great case, but the form factor of
the Prism prevents it from sitting snug in the
case (it's really loose) and the case won't close.

The rep from RhinoSkin couldn't give me an indication
of when they would have a case for the Prism.

I think I'll be trying out the Rhodiana next.

There's the new Sport Case from Handspring... I got a black one for my VDx and like it, however, you can't use it with oversized modules. It offers far more protection than the belt clip case, IMHO. For the time being, I have retired my E&B Slipper.

I used the leather slip case that came with the Prism. I used a swivel clip from "TheClip" available at Best Buy. I took the button that double back tapes to things and drilled a small hole in the center. Used the tape to secure it and put a screw thru from the inside to hold the button on. Now I have a belt case that is easy to get the Prism in and out of. It also accommodates oversized modules like the MiniJam.
