Edge, WinNT 4.0 and Serial Cradle

I'm stunned that Handspring is asking $40 for their serial cradle. Recognizing that my employer isn't getting off NT anytime soon, I'm prepared to pay for the cradle ... USB is the way of the present (let alone the future) and my employer simply isn't there.

HOWEVER, that having been said, there are a lot of corporate users out there, and frankly, this is just kicking my posterior.

Is there a way to do a serial, non-IR synch for under $40? Is anyone selling cables? I'm this|close to trading-up the Edge, but that $40 for the serial cradle is killing me. $25, fine; $35, yeah, OK. $40? Look, I'm not trying to be cheap, but really this just gets me.

Sigh.

Thanks for letting me vent, even if no one has a solution.
