Excuuuuse me, but why would I buy WriteRights when I can buy $.65 worth of 8 guage vinyl and make a lifetime supply of my own screen protectors.

You must be the one selling them, otherwise why would you even list it?

LARRY!! how old are you? two? all you have to do is kindly inform him that you would prefer to pay $.65, not act like a 12 year old valley girl and then start accusing him of trying to sell it.... Either that, or you could just keep your opinion to yourself, if that's the only way you're gonna keep from insulting someone.

and, just so you know, some people don't have the time to go out, find some place that has 8 guage vinyl, and sit at home for 10 hours and cut up little pieces of it.

This isn't mean to be insulting.. just trying to calm it down. please.

I've read a lot about making your own screen protectors and I decided to buy the WriteRights AND make some of my own just to compare the two.

Depending on how much you want to spend and how much time you have on your hands, either one can suit your needs. I personally prefer the WriteRights because it has a "rough" texture to it, creating a good surface to write on (it makes it feel more like you're writing on paper). Also, the "rough" texture also helps to diffuse and refract light, resulting in less of a glare.

Of course, if you're handy and want to save money, you can buy some LaminateIt and make your own. It does a decent job of protecting your screen but I personally like the "rough" surface that the WriteRights have. Although, I must admit, they are extremely overpriced for such a simple product.

WriteRights are definitely overpriced but I too prefer their texture and found viewing the screen a bit cloudy. I solved that problem buy cutting them into 1" strips and only place it over the graffiti area. At 1" it acutally extends a bit above the graffiti area which ends up covering just a little bit of the screen and provides protection where I do most of my tapping on the screen anyway.

Also gets me a bit more for my money this way. I tried the 811 Magic tape also but found I scratched it up too quickly. Vinyl has too much glare and the drag on the stylus is a bit different.

I like the slick feel of the vinyl better, but I can't get rid of the bubbles no matter how hard I try, so I'm going to stick to my WriteRights until they're gone.

I decided today to check into getting some of these and did a little comparision shopping - specifically to see if I could stop off somewhere and pick them up instead of ordering.

Office Max has them listed at their website and they appear to be cheaper than if you purchased at PalmGear HQ and Concept Kitchen.

They list for $18.99 (compare to PalmGear at $27.95 and Concept Kitchen at $27.99)

I, too, have used both vinyl, tape, and the writerights. The Writerights are a bit pricey, but they do have the nice texture to them.

Never purchase them directly from Concept Kitchen. As they are the manufacurer, they need to price them higher than their distributors so as not to cause undo competition with their own distributors.

BTW, the best price on Writerights that I've found is $13.95 at Buy.com (WHICH IS MUCH LESS THAN MOST EBAY AUCTIONS!):
