USB Hub w/Visor

My computer has only 1 USB port. I use USB for my printer, external storeage device, and Visor Neo. Everything plays together nicely, except the Visor. WinXP says I have a malfunctioning USB device when I boot up. I guess it knows something is plugged into the hub (empty cradle), but cannot identify what. Nothing happens when I put the NEO in its cradle and press the sync button. I never had sync problems before. Does anyone have experience with this? I hate to go back to plug swapping all the time.

Are you using an externally-powered hub, or does it draw power only from the USB port? That might make the difference.

I have a Belkin 4-port powered hub with my Visor and Palm USB cradles, a CF card reader, and a camera interface cord plugged in, and everything works. (I'm running Win98 SE and my machine has 2 USB ports, but my scanner is plugged into one port.)

I do not have an external power supply for the hub. But of the devices plugged into the hub, only the Visor does not have its own power supply. My printer and Iomega Peerless drive have their own AC power cords and should not need pwer from the hub. Well, actually the Visor has its own power supply, its batteries.

The cradle needs to get power from someplace, and it doesn't take it from your Visor. If you can try it with a powered hub, do so.
