Internet access..through Clie cradle...

OK, I tried doing this on my VDX awhile back to no avail. Im at work now and bored to death....and my new Clie is just sitting there in the cradle charging beside me.
Is it anymore possible with a Clie then it was on a vdx? or am i still limited by the usb cable.....
it doesnt make any sense...why palm would include this option in the prefs...but nothing supports usb
Any ideas...cause im thinking im no where with the usb cable
