Well, I received my Visor last week, within the time frame, no problems with the order and I live in Michigan; ordered within a day or two of the premiere. It is a wonderful PDA. The feel, the cover (that others complained about) even the color (graphite but more art pencil graphite black than no. 2 pencil graphite) is very snappy. The keys feel much tighter and more responsive than other machines I've tried; the stylis also seems to me just the right weight and nice nubbed notch design and the fit in the slot is very good--not going to slip out. The combination of these design features (the screen is sharper than the III and there seems to be a cushion of plastic in the writing range to protect the screen); the additional memory; the expansion springboard slot; and the price--well I'm a very happy customer. Perhaps when yours arrives you'll feel the same.

Question

Did you order with a Visa Check Card?

This is a great topic. Perhaps it can help present the other side of Visor-dom.

I, too, am a satisfied customer. With the exception of some horrid customer support, HS has fulfilled their promises to me.

The VDx feels like a great and is very fast. Ya gotta love the USB!!

Thumbs up

I agree to you Nachtswerg. Handspring is a new company indeed.. and everyone knows that they were overwelmed of the customers-demands. But of course, they've got a director who've been working with Palm, so he should be used to this.

I think it isn't right to complain as much as you have done.. but I don't say it's right not to do it either. The situation is out of hands because everyone wants to buy a Visor right now, and everyone is calling to Handspring complaining about almost everything. Still, I don't say you shouldn't. But if you could try to be patient they might be able to work faster. We are demanding a lot of them, and if we are patient maybe the new webshop would be a little bit better this time. The bandwidth wasn't the best I've seen, but I'm sure they are trying to fix that problem now.

Ok, I'm sure everyone is going to complain about my opinions.. but I'd be glad to get some feedback. I for one live in Norway and I'm not sure if I'm going to order it and get it forwarded by a friend of mine in Texas or California, or if I'm going to wait till January when they start shipping to Europe as well. I've got no other choices than to wait anyway =/

Well.. Handspring is a great company. Visor is a great product. They are new, and they will learn more about what a demanding market we are. I can't wait till I get my brand new Visor Dx!

Nachtswerg,

Doesn't the name Duchamp sound suspiciously similar to a screen name Donna Dubinsky would use? Just an observation

Hey, with a qualifier like that "horrid" exception you gave I can feel this thread sinking already!

Let's keep the morale up now people -- Positive posts only! Palm is peace. I wanted to be Handspringing with joy today, but the UPS guy just came and went, so I'm reading this thread.

Regan, I felt that I had to mention that I agree their customer service is horrid or I wouldn't be completely honest.

That said, I still think that they've delivered everything they promised to me. Oh, and I even like the stylus!!

reganc,

it's nice to see that you want to post positive messages

As I've said before. They are new, they are great, and the product they are introducing is a small piece of heaven. When I get my hands on my Visor I'll be sitting with it almost all the time. I'm sure I'll get hooked.

Although Handspring goes through a hard period at the moment, I'm still looking for the day when I recieve my unit. Smile, be patient.. ok?

Handspring forever!

Well, I'm done here.. let the other satisfied customers get the chance to say their opinions

Well I got mine today (about 2 hours ago) and I am very impressed. Worth the wait. Very high quality construction, sharp screen, the cover is very solid.

hmmmm, they beat their deadline by a day. tsk tsk ... so much for losing all of Septembers orders.

yep, mine came in yesterday. My wife met me at the door and said, "I think you got something from UPS today!" (Or something like that...) I'm extremely happy with it. It even syncs with ccMail that we use at work, an extra bonus I wasn't expecting!

Very happy customer!
