It depends. Do you want one? If you want one, then order the silly thing. If you don't care right now, you can wait until they come out in store - SOMETIME in 2000.

You might also check online auctions (Ebay, etc.) and the forum on this Web site where some items are sold - the Buy/Sell/Exchange forum. Beware, you will pay more using these methods, but an extra $30 -$50 might be better than waiting until February!

I'm very happy with mine, and I bought it off Ebay for $30 more than I would've paid at Handspring. I was one of the people who ordered in September, only to be told 4, then 6, then 8 or more weeks before my order would be received.

jim_liao,

Everyone has a different opinion on this. I'm in the exact same situation as you, and as of right now I'm waiting until it shows up in retail stores. Unless Handspring fixes their order system and catches up on their backlog before then.

It's pretty scary to read in today's update on the Handspring web site, that they're still testing their system for moving the first batch of web orders into the shipping system. You'd think they would have had things like that worked out before they put the system into operation.
