Michael

We do have PAL here indeed, but my system plays anything

PAL is IMHO the better system, but lets not start a flamewar over that too

VHS is getting very cheap indeed nowadays... too bad I'm spoiled with DVD..

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

There's absolutely no argument there.

It's amazing that in 2001 we're still using technology invented in the 40's. There has been no real advancements in Television display technology in the US.

We're still hoping for HDTV, but the way the FCC is dishing out bandwidth, I doubt we'll ever see the full potential of it anytime soon.

The great thing about DVD, IMHO, is that even if the movie is TERRIBLE (ala Tombraider ;o) at least you can say 'but look at how great the picture is!'

No little fires from me! I just know about PAL from people I know in Europe. I've never seen it in operation.

So true! I wonder what the programming will be like when we get 3D TV?

"Gee Astro, doesn't the actor portraying Barney have such a subtle grasp of the conflict that must be in his breast? Playing a creature torn between it's need for gibbets of raw flesh torn from it's squealing prey and its' need to love and be loved?"
