Question

I was on a trip this weekend and my Deluxe locked up and I had to do a hard reset. When I got home I found out that I had to re-install all of my non-OS programs. Is there a way to backup all of the info on my Visor to my Win desktop, including the programs, and if/when I have to do a restore again it restores everything?

Does the backup module restore non-OS programs as well as the databases? Does anyone know if the 6-Pac will backup/restore programs too?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

There are programs that backup everything when you hot-sync. I'm not familiar with the free one(s), as I went straight to BackupBuddy (shareware). I did so on the strength of others recommendations, and the flexibility of the program (it allows you to specify which programs get backed up, and which data files you backup - - no sense in saving AvantGo channels). The address for BackupBuddy is http://www.backupbuddy.com/

The backup module does everthing automatically: programs, preferences and data. The SixPak is not designed expressly as a backup device, but could be used as one (i.e. you'd have to manually copy stuff to it).

Thanks yucca. I just ordered a copy of BackupBuddy.

Do you or does anybody out there know when SixPak will be available.

Thanks again.
