Does anyone know if the rainbow colored visor stylii have a reset pin built into them (like the stylii on the newer Palm devices)? The CSR's do not know and the visor web site (during the brief period it was on-line this afternoon) did not provide the information.

I'm not so sure. I spoke to a couple of CSR's and both told me that the stylus did not have a reset pin.

Thumbs up

The stylus that ships with the visor does not have a reset pin, but according to Handspring's web site, the 5-pack of colored stylii does have both the reset pin and the phillips screw driver that Tom (Pshlortz) mentioned.

Hmmm. . . where are you finding this info on the Handspring web site?
I know it used to be there when you could order, but I don't see it now. Also, I thought the Premium Stylus (metal) came with the reset button, but I didn't think the colored ones did. I could be wrong.

The colored stylus is the premium (metal) stylus and according to Customer Service it does not have a reset pin or a screwdriver. I do not recollect the web site indicating that the stylus had a reset pin, let alone a screwdriver.

From an article posted here on VisorCentral http://www.visorcentral.com/visor/a...iw1/default.asp

NEW VISOR STYLUS

Mike: Those of you who will just hate the standard Visor stylus, and long for the features of a Palm III-type stylus, take heart! I was shown a new stylus you can buy for -- of course -- extra money! It is plastic at the ends and metal in the middle, just like the Palm III-series stylus. Unscrew the tip and there's a plastic Reset Pin.

Unscrew the back -- and the metal cylinder ends with a screwdriver head! A screwdriver head that can be used to open the Visor case (have at it, hardware hackers!).

Marcus: Didn't get a chance to try the new "metal" stylus. They sell in a five pack for $15.95. The screw driver "feature" may not exist in the shipping version.

Eric:
Thanks for your post. I did remember reading about the reset pin and screwdriver but could not recollect where. However, the CSR's and their supervisors insist that the "current generation" of stylii do not have a reset pin. Perhaps they are wrong, bearing in mind that they probably have not seen one (since they are geographically distant from the warehouse). Since I will be buying the premium stylus only for its reset pin function (I use a Cross digital writer with my IIIx), I guess I will wait for other users to confirm or refute the info before placing my order.
