I've been using the Handspring economy slim leather case for about a month, and have noticed that I'm starting to get a worn spot running down my screen right where the edge of the pocket in the front cover meets the Visor.

Luckily I've been using WriteRights to protect the screen, so no lasting damage was done.

I think the problem would go away if I didn't put anything in the pocket or credit card slots. But I have hardly anything in there now (just a cloth to clean my screen, which isn't even as thick as a single credit card).

You could also protect the screen by putting the Visor in the case upside down, so the screen faces toward the back of the case. But then you have to take the Visor out of the case and flip it around in order to use it.

I've seen previous postings that mention this case has a tendency to push the buttons on inadvertently. I think they tried so hard to make this case slim that they didn't leave enough room for it to close properly.

I plan to switch cases.

I bought the devian DVP3 case www.devian.com and have been quite happy with it.

It zippers closed, holds seven credit cards and a stylus and has a pocket for money. I had the slim case and gave it away.

Instead of putting the velcro on the back of the visor, I put it on the hard cover and mount the Visor in the case that way, so it acts muck like the holder in the Handspring cases. When filled with money and credit cards, the DVP3 is aboutr 1 3/4 inches thick and fits well in a loose front pant pocket.

The Handspring leather matching case also has this "screen wear" problem. I am getting a worn spot on my Write Right in the area where the snap is.

I just bought a TI slider case (expensive, but tough!), and plan to call Handspring about this problem.

Anybody else?

Last night, I made a temporary workaround to stop the screen rub.

I cut a piece of thin cardboard twice the width of the plastic around the Visor screen. It was tall enough to cover the plastic, but left the bottom button area clear.

I folded it in half and slid it into the business card area on the left, trimmed to fit, then attached the cardboard to the left side with small pieces of tape.

It's not elegant, but it works for now...

I've had the Handspring Executive Case since the beginning of November and
noticed the "screen rub" on my WriteRight after about a week. After 3 months, however, it still looks the same as when I first noticed it. In fact, I don't even
notice it anymore.

If I didn't have a WriteRight, I might be concerned, but with the screen
protected, I don't think that there's cause for concern, expecially since
the only mark left on the screen is a slight smudging. Personally, I think
it's just the oils from the leather.
