My Address and Date Book information won't HotSync, although I get no error messages. When I sync, it's as if an older set of data is being synchronized. When I select "Handheld overwrites Desktop", I don't get my current data from my Visor, I get an older set. And on a normal hotsync, none of my desktop changes get on the Visor.

It all started when I installed EasySync for Lotus Notes. I had a heck of time getting it to work. In the end I decided to uninstall it. So now I'm back to hotsyncing with the Palm Desktop (and I'm no longer syncing email).

I've tried to remove all traces of EasySync from the registry and hard drive. I've double-checked hotsync registry settings. I've reinstalled the Palm Desktop conduits. (I even uninstalled the Palm Desktop and reinstalled it.) Everything else syncs fine, but I'm getting frustrated about not being able to synch address and datebook.

I'm going to try to hotsync on another machine and see if that helps. Maybe there's still a remnant of something on my laptop. If that doesn't work, I think the problem in on my Visor, not the desktop.

Any ideas?

(sorry for the long post)

This sounds like a relatively common problem. The first thing that you want to do is make sure that the proper conduits are there..also make sure that there aren't any other users listed in the Palm Desktop. One problem that people have reported who have synced with Lotus is that when they switch back they have problems..this happens b/c when you first sync with Lotus it encrypts the info so that it can only be read with Notes. What happens is sometimes a hotsync is established, but only wierd characters are transfered and none of the info can be read. Unfortunately the only thing that can be done would be a hard reset.

Yup, Sih's right. The same exact thing happened to me and I contacted Palm support. They basically said to stay away EasySync and to use Intellisync if you plan on syncing to Notes AND other PIM's. The funny thing is that although Palm recommended a hard reset, I think my problem was solved after a soft reset?!? Not sure how this is possible but it's worth a try. Let us know if it works.

I tried a soft reset a few times, but that didn't work. So I settled for the hard reset, which fixed everything. I manually moved a few things to the Palm desktop before the hard reset, so I didn't lose anything.

Thanks for the help.
