>Sprint - Connecting using a Timeport and a Visor (Palm?)

This should work with other phones too.
I decided to write this DOC file because of all the time I wasted trying connect to Sprint using my Visor. Plus I had to go to a variety of sources to find the information needed to connect.
CONNECTING TO SPRINT
(This is also the procedure to get you Visor to talk to your phone, if you are getting the no modem error)
1. Get a Wireless Timeport phone (other phones work too), serial cradle (or Mark/Space cable, or a portable cradle), Data Connectivity Kit (Sprint product).
2. Connect the Male to Male adapter (found in Data Contentivity Kit) to the Connection Cable and the serial cradle.
3. Place the Visor in the Cradle and turn it on.
4. Turn off your phone.
5. Turn on your phone.
6. Connect the Data Connectivity cable to your phone.

Those are the basic steps need to connect your phone to your wirless phone.

SETUP YOUR VISOR DIAL UP CONNECTION
- Goto Modem Pref.
Select Modem:Custom
Speed: 19,200
Flow Ctrl: off
Country: Other
String: AT&FX4

- Goto Network Pref.
Create a New Service
Service Name:QNC (Quick Network Connect) This will allow you to connect to the Net without a ISP. You will be using SPRINT's.
User Name:Web
Password:Web
Phone:#2932 (don't forget the # sign)
Goto Details...
Connection type:PPP
Query DNS: (checked)
IP Address: (Checked) Automatic

Now you are ready to connect. The baud rate still shows 300 baud. I'm able to connect and download all my mail in less than a minute. Avantgo takes about 6 minutes to download 15 websites.
