Question

Please help me out. When I tap on the CityTime icon the resulting screen announces
San Francisco and a time in the upper right hand corner of the screen. The problem is that the time shown is not San Francisco time but rather the time in my community which is Eastern Standard Time - fully three hours different than the Pacific Time used in San Francisco. This results in all the city times displayed being off by those same three hours.

Is there some way to correct the San Francisco time shown so that all the other times are correct, or to change the city to one located in the Eastern Standard Time Zone, thereby bringing the other city times into conformity?

I am certain that I am not the only Visor user that has experienced this circumstance. But, perhaps, I am the only one not capable of figuring a solution out on his own.

I await your help.

Did you set the correct time in your General preferences first (I mean the Visor's General Preferences under Preferences)? This is as opposed to setting the time in City Time

Cool

You need to set your home city in CityTime, then set your current local time in General Preference. This will ensure you to get correct time for every city.

Thank you for the advice, but if I cannot figure out how to set a time after tapping on the City Time Icon.

When I go to the General Preferences and set the time to San Francisco Time, then it is true that the World Times are then correct. However, my time in Michigan is no longer correct, instead it is the Pacific Time Zone time for San Francisco. When I return to General Preferences and set the time back to my time, which is Eastern Standard Time, then the World Times are off again.

I guess it is no big deal, but it is an irritant because I am certain that there must be some solution to my dilemma.

Any other suggestions, or anyone else experiencing the same circumstance?

It sounds like you may need to check your time and time zone on your PC. If the time and time zone settings on your PC are not correct then it will reflect on your Visor.

Really? I didn't know the Visor clock synced to the PC clock.

I am not sure what you want. Is it "Change Location" in utility menu?

That may be the answer. How do I Change Location in the Utility Menu? If I could change the city in the upper right hand corner of the screen to one in Eastern Standard Time instead of San Francisco, then my time (EST) would synch with the time of the "base" city chosen, consequently all the remaining city time references would fall in line.

So, how do I get into the Utility Menu to Change the Location of the base city? Please help.

Pages 135-137 of the Visor Handheld User Guide tell you how to set your home city; change location; etc.

Ralph, one setting at a time. Please.

First set the local time on your Visor using the Preferences - General. Then go to CityTime. Punch the icon at the lower right corner of the Graffiti panel (who knows what it is called), this will bring up the Options window - and then Select Home City. Change the home city to the city YOU ARE IN. This doesn't change the date or time on your Visor, only resets where it thinks home is.

So if your Visor is set to SF, and you set the time to 10:00, and then change the Home City to Detroit Michigan, it will be 10:00 in Detroit. And SF will suddenly and miraculously be 8:00.

OK??

Larry

Lightbulb

A big thank you to each of you who helped with my question...Voila! It is solved. After learning how to change the City Time Preferences, I entered Detroit, and I am on track.
