Hi,

Just thought I'd relay my experiences with the EXtend Fullcharge rechargeable battery pack. http://www.extendcomputer.com/html/..._for_visor.html

I received the unit last week and had considerable difficulty installing the battery. In over thirty minutes of trying I still could not get the battery in. Frustrated, I fired off an angry letter to the company demanding a refund.

The company mailed me back and told me where to send for my refund.

Later that night I did manage to get the battery in and set it to charge. The next morning it was giving me a solid LED (fully charged) but when I turned on the unit, there was no power. I did hard and soft resets and nothing helped.

The company had mailed me back and told me where to send for my refund.

I emailed the company with the details. Their rep and I exchanged many emails over the day trying to eliminate the problems I was having and then she offered to send me a new battery. She shipped it by priority mail and it arrived this morning.

It installed no problems whatsoever and is currently charging. I turned on the visor (midcharge) to ensure that it was behaving as before (ie telling me it was charging when in fact no power was getting to the visor) and this time the visor actually came on (with a low battery indicator of course), so I'm sure everything is fine this time.

Overall, though I was considerably frustrated at the start of this whole thing, I have found EXtend's customer service (particularly Joyce Harvey) to be superb. She did her best to fix the problem with the battery I was originally sent and when that didn't work she rushed me off a new battery which solved the problem. I didn't have to beg or insist for the new battery--in fact, I did not even ask. It was her suggestion.

After hearing about the poor support for products like the Total Recall (which I was considering getting), I thought it would be good to post my experience with EXtend.

Thanks,

mc.
