System Hanging

I believe hacks and the Treo are not the best of friends. I keep reducing the number I use and things get better, however I have one problem I cannot put my finger on.

Does anybody out there experience a system hang dialing or receiving calls. More precise, when you dial a number the screen says dialing xxxxxxxx but nothing happens. If you close the lid, the Treo does not turn off. Give the unit a minute or so and it just moves on like nothing ever happened.

This started after Christmas and one time, I dialed a friend, it hung. I closed the lid and put the Treo back on my belt. A minute or so later I heard voices coming from my belt.

Before I call and get the unit exchanged I am curious if anyone else has had this problem.

With the Treo the hacks seem to be ok, at least for me. Are you running any other 3rd party software that adds enhancements to the phone function? A 3rd party ringtone manager? Ringo, Treo Picture Caller ID?

It is most likely software confilcts, which Handspring won't do anything about.

I have TC Ringer now, but this problem started before it. I was using Cell Phone Tracker, which has a hack componet. I have disabled that and things improved.

The funniest thing today. My 'ignore' button on the screen now hows a keyboard layout pattern as the graphic. That started after TC Ringer.

My 270 does this exact same thing. Both with the ignore button for a phone call as well as the SMS screen button forget which one and TreoMail. Never have been able to figure it out. I asked HS support a few times about it and they had no clue what I was talking about.

I deleted X Master and Cell Plan Tracker. The only one left that has any 'higher power' OS related stuff is VeriChat since it rides SMS all day long.

I will let you know.

I had something similar happen with my Treo 300 on Dec 21st. Was on my way to Maryland, tried to make a call with voice command. It didn't recognize that the call actually went through, and therefore didn't give me an option to hang up afterwards! The only way I could hang up was by holding on/off to turn the wireless off. It was weird.
