I just bought a Xircom SpringPort Modem and am having trouble connecting. I am using Mindspring and everytime I try to connect it gets to the handshake part, then after about twenty or so seconds it says "fatal exception/error" and I have to do a soft reset. I was wondering how to fix this problem. Thanks alot for any help.

Also I dont know how to modem hotsync. I put my home phone in as the number- but when I try it it comes up with some operator voice. Which number should I use/what am I doing wrong?
