Motorola Verizon 120C: Life Timer Question

I know very little about phones, but someone asked me if there was a way to "reset the LIFE timier, not just the call timer?" I guess that involves flashing the memory or something. How can this be done? Are there any codes he can type into the phone to dump this memory?
