Question

I was looking at Palmgear's Visor section, at the modules when I saw the HandyGPS Module available, which leads to me to questions:

1. The HandyGPS, why must you pay for maps after 1 year, and I am guessing that the maps on the the Visor's RAM, and not on a memory card of some sort. (That kinda inhales with vigor if you have several high-detail maps around 1-1.5 mb. a piece.)

and...

2.What ever happened to the Geode, the GPS Module w/ MMC card slots from GeoDiscovery (http://www.geodiscovery.com) that was supposed to have been out now? The webpage still doesn't have a definite release date yet.

Well, it does not really work that way. For the first year your access to the map database is free. After that, it is $10/yr to keep the subscription in place.

You could download every single map they have to your PC and then not pay the next year, but you would not have updates to the maps as new roads and features are added, after the free year is over.
