Question

Help..!

I Hot Sync'd a load of new ebooks and applications over to my Visor and one of them screwed up. When I try to view the 'Unfiled' screen I get a Fatal Error and have to soft reset. This works OK, but every time I try to view 'All' or 'Unfiled' it does it...

No problem I thought, I'll just delete the new stuff and install it one by one. I looked on the Delete screen and at the top there is an odd 5K file with the Euro Currency 'E' symbol as it's file name. That looks like the culprit to me, but when I select it to delete and say OK, it comes back that it can't be deleted...!!

What can I do now..?? Is there some way to delete things at the next Hot Sync..? I've got BackUp Buddy, but I think the Hot Sync Installer takes priority and so my last back up will include the new stuff (I think).

Has anybody got any ideas..???

TIA - fubar

Cool

There is a program called Z'Catalog that might be able to forcibly delete the file.

Try doing a soft reset, and then try to delete the file.

If that does not work, try doing a reset while holding the up arrow key down, and then try to delete the file. After which do another normal soft reset.

Unhappy

Winchell,

I got Z'Catalog, but it wouldn't delete it because it said it was open. I went to the properites editor in Z'Catalog and changed the property to closed, but still it wouldn't let me do it. Also the Remote control program now complains that something else is hogging the IR port, but the place it tells me to make changes in the Preferences doesn't exist..!

Potter,
Thanks for the tip, I'll try that next...

Download BeamBox and see if that will delete it. http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...amp;prodID=1535

It can usually delete random weird files like yours.
