Angry

Today, my digitizer started a new trick. Whenever I click somewhere, its as if the horizontal location doesn't register. If I click on the upper-left corner, the click is recognized in the upper-left corner. If I click in the upper-right corner, the click is STILL recognized as being in the upper-left corner! The vertical works fine, but the horizontal always registers on the left.

Because of this, I can't even get to prefs (whose icon is on the right-side of my screen) to adjust my digitizer. Also, I can get to the app menu to change to small list in the hopes that the icon would then be on the left!

Just for the record, my first Visor had hardware-app-button problems (and was replaced). This replacement visor has recurring digitizer problems and fast battery drain (drains a pair of AAs in 3 days! but I have FullCharge now).

I'm sick of trouble with my Visor. I know I should send it back, but I feel it would be futile.

Have you tried a soft reset? If that doesn't (didn't) help, try a warm reset. If you still have problems, I'd suggest contacting Handspring.

You should send it back to Handspring. I believe that you have a hardware problem. A four-wire resisitive digitizer (like in palms) would behave exactly as you are describing if one wire went bad (open or short circuit). I think that this is a no-brainer for them to replace.

Though like Mark says, it wouldn't hurt to try every type of reset that you are comfortable with before sending it in.

Call Handspring!

I also have had the same problem. It drives me nuts. I tried soft resets, digitizing, hard resets...etc. I finally called Handspring tonight...and they're sending me a new one (or probably refurbished I should say!). I figure a Visor that works is better than nothing...even if it is refurbished!
