LAN / Multiple Users / various workstations

I recently installed a LAN at my office. I am quite the novice, and am learning by doing. Here's what I'd like to accomplish: I'd like to have cradles on two of the workstations, for two seperate visors, and give my secretary at a third workstation the ability to browse, and edit the information. (add things to the calender, etc.)

I know this can't be as difficult as the barely decipherable techy guy at handspring told me it would be.

Anyone have any input?
