$20 visormodems

I was at the local CompUSA on Sunday and saw that they had marked their Visormodems at $20. Thanks to the advice that I got through this site, I had finally gotten my visorphone with voicestream to connect to ATT Worldnet using Blazer and was happy with the connection. I picked up the visormodem because of the low price and was delighted to discover that it would work in the same manner as the visorphone connection without making any additional changes. So I can now connect using either the visorphone or modem simply by changing modules. Cheap thrills.

The modem was not on sale, the price was marked. When I went to check out, the item came up at $50 but I showed them the marked price of $20. There were a number of modems at the same marked price.

As to type, it is a handspring modem not the thin modem. It uses two AAA batteries and works fine. Blazer and the mail program both recognize it without making any changes and when it is replaced by the visorphone the connection is equally seamless.

Where did you see this at? I went to the Dayton Ohio CompUSA and they had many Handspring Visor Modems but the shelf was marked at $99. I had them price check it at the register and it rang up $50. I would love to get one or two at that price.
